The Area of Tourism focuses on promoting the development of R+D+i projects in ICT applied to the field of tourism. The principal lines of research are directed towards:
- Achieving data interoperability between different agents in the tourist sector value chain through technologies based on SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) and Web Services.
- Developing Semantic Web applications in the tourism field and promoting the use of ontologies and the reuse of digital content in multiple environments and devices.
- Developing numerical methods for data analysis and its conversion into knowledge for decision-making within the fields of tourism and the environment.
