Cibersociety's mission is to help foster the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in various areas of society and businesses to interact, work, communicate, do business, build trust and share knowledge. To do this, we must be aware about the emerging technological innovations, its applications and uses that the society and companies give them, as well as disseminate and propose to implement them in different sectors.

Cibersociety works to promote projects toward a common goal to ensure that SMEs and society become more competitive thanks to a more extensive and intensive use of ICT. In this sense, Cibersocietat offers lines of action in the following areas:

• Bringing together ICT and different sectors at social and business level. SodiLAB is the research laboratory dedicated to the promotion of new projects towards the Information Society.

• Digital and information literacy, through projects like the Network of telecenters of the Balearic Islands (XarxaBit).

• Analysis of indicators of Information Society and Knowledge through OBSI (Balearic Observatory of the Information Society) and the publication of reports on the uses of ICT in different sectors and trends and to propose specific work lines.

• Promotion of the uses of ICT and its impact on society.

• Promotion of iBit Foundation projects through digital communication tools such as iBit´s blog, social networks, audiovisual dissemination platform Tv.ibit.org, etc.

• Balearic Observatory of the Information Society (OBSI) [+]
  

  The Balearic Observatory of the Information Society (OBSI), directed by the iBit Foundation, is a tool for observation and monitoring to measure the degree of development of the Information Society (IS) in the Balearic Islands. The OBSI also seeks to be a meeting point and place of dialogue between society in general and the Administration, and a forum for discussion on information and communication technologies (ICT) in our Region.

• Maintaining and making the Balearic Islands' Telecentres Network more dynamic  [+]
  

  XarxaBit, the Balearic Islands’ Telecentres Network that the iBit Foundation directs together with local bodies, seeks to facilitate access to the Internet for the general public, contributing to the democratisation of access to services that the Information Society provides. The aim of this project is to guarantee that the 16 telecentres that form the Balearic Islands’ XarxaBit are maintained and made more dynamic.
