The Health Area of iBit Foundation is carrying out
projects and activities to promote technological innovation in the field of public
and private health systems with the aim of standardizing access to health information
and help the sustainability these systems. To achieve this goal, the health department,
works in three directions: interoperability, telemedicine and management and transfer of knowledge.
On one hand, interoperability facilitates the conditions
of access to information from professionals and patients, whatever their workplace
or location. To accomplish this, iBit Foundation works with networks of entities that
form the health system so they may share information. On the other hand, telemedicine
is encouraged to provide the best service and the best professionals regardless of
physical location and, in turn, save unnecessary expenditure on travel. Finally, Health
Area takes the opportunity to disseminate through publications and training courses this
collection and formalization of all the accumulated knowledge.
Health area has launched the Integration Competency Center
(CCI) and the Health Innovation Laboratory (HiLAB), to manage efficiently and independently
intercommunication of information systems and data integration. Thus, it contributes to
sustainable model of health services by incorporating telemedicine care processes.
Examples of initiatives that demonstrate the task of iBit Foundation in implementing
the ICT to health are: Play for Health's telemedicine platform , the Patient Portal,
Electronic Prescriptions, Unique Identification for the Patients and the Integration
of Medical Imaging, among others projects
