[17-11-2009] This Friday – 4th day event on Open Source solutions for SMEs: Free Software for the Tourism Sector
The
iBit Foundation, within the framework of the Avanza Plan
and in line with its
policy of promoting free software as a real and useful
alternative for small and
medium-sized companies, this Friday 20 November at 9.30h will present
the fourth day event in the “Open Source Solutions for
SMEs” cycle.
This event will go under the title of
“Free software for the
tourism sector”. The first speaker will be the
director of the TurisTEC cluster, Miguel
Piñol, who will talk about open standards
for interoperability within the tourism sector. Afterwards, Marco
Tàboas, founder of Promo-turismo.com
will talk about the promotion of tourism SMEs
with free software. Finally, Jesús M. González-Barahona, professor
at King
Juan Carlos University and expert in free software,
will speak about
the business opportunities it offers. The
speakers will be presented by Benjamí
Villoslada, lecturer, programmer and campaigner for free software and
co-founder of menéame.
The day event
will take place in the Press Room at ParcBIT’s Son Espanyol
Building at 9.30h, and can be
